On a moulded shell there is no stitching to judge
A shaped acrylic clutch has no seams to inspect in the usual way, so the checks move to the moulding: the polish along the join, how evenly the two halves meet, whether the closure sits flush, and whether the chain rubs against the shell edge. The clip turns the bag so those edges pass the light in sequence.
Cast and polished acrylic looks seamless when it is finished well and shows hairline clouding along the join when it is not. That is a surface judgement, which is exactly what a short video can support.
16 x 10 x 10 cm of shell, minus the mould
The published size is 16 x 10 x 10 cm, and a moulded body spends some of that on the shape itself. In practice the usable space is a phone, a card case and a lipstick, with the depth rather than the width deciding what fits.
If you need a bag that closes over anything larger, this is the wrong shape rather than the wrong size. The useful comparison with a soft clutch is about capacity, not centimetres.
Heat, solvent and storage rules for cast acrylic
Acrylic reacts to heat and solvents: keep the clutch away from radiators and direct sun, store it in a soft dust bag, and clean it with a dry microfibre cloth rather than alcohol or an all-purpose spray.
The green leaf and the red gloss are the two surfaces to check in daylight, since bright gloss shows a scuff more readily than a matte finish. Ask for a close-up of the leaf edge and the chain attachment if the finish is what you are matching.
What the chain changes
The metal chain turns a handheld shape into something that can hang from the shoulder for part of an evening, but it does not change the capacity or the closure. Watch where the chain meets the shell in the clip and ask how it is attached.
On a novelty shape, colour consistency matters more than hardware finish when two examples are compared. Ask for the same angle in the same light and the difference will be obvious.
Where a shaped clutch fits in an evening rotation
Evening pieces usually divide into three jobs: the bag you hold all night, the one you hang on a chair, and the one that has to survive a taxi, a cloakroom and a long dinner. A 16 cm shell with a chain covers all three because the chain folds into the bag, but the closure decides the rest — a moulded shell has no give, so whatever goes inside has to fit the shape rather than reshape it.
That is the trade-off with novelty shapes: they photograph differently from a soft clutch and they carry less. Decide which of the two you want before you compare finishes, because no colourway fixes capacity.
