Dior prints four Saddle sizes in centimetres: Mini 19 x 15 x 6 cm, Small 20 x 16 x 5 cm, Saddle Bag with Strap 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm, and Medium Soft Saddle 24 x 20 x 7 cm. The two smallest tiers are 500 g each and 1 cm apart in width, but the Small is 1 cm shallower and 1 cm taller, and that height is what moves a phone from Dior's 'card holder and lipstick' list into the Small's 'phone, card holder and lipstick' list.
Dior sells four Saddle sizes today, all printed in centimetres: the Mini at 19 x 15 x 6 cm, the Small at 20 x 16 x 5 cm, the Saddle Bag with Strap at 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm and the Medium Soft Saddle at 24 x 20 x 7 cm. The Small is 1 cm wider than the Mini and 1 cm shallower, and that centimetre of height is the whole difference between the two smallest tiers.

What Dior prints for the four current Saddle sizes
Every figure below is copied from a Dior product block for the named bag and checked in October 2026. Nothing here is a resale measurement, and where a resale platform disagrees the disagreement is printed further down rather than averaged away.
| Size as Dior names it | Length x Height x Depth (cm) | Inches | Dior’s stated contents | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini Saddle Bag with Strap | 19 x 15 x 6 | 7.5 x 6 x 2.5 | a card holder and lipstick | 500 g |
| Small Saddle Bag with Strap | 20 x 16 x 5 | 8 x 6.5 x 2 | a phone, a card holder and lipstick | 500 g |
| Saddle Bag with Strap (the tier listings call Medium) | 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 | 10 x 8 x 2.5 | a phone, a card holder, sunglasses and lipstick | 800 g |
| Medium Soft Saddle Bag with Strap | 24 x 20 x 7 | 9.5 x 8 x 3 | a phone, a wallet, a card holder, sunglasses and lipstick | not published |
Dior prints its Saddle figures in the order length, height, width, so the middle number in every block is the height and not the depth, which is worth fixing in mind because most resale listings put depth second. The four current tiers are 19 x 15 x 6 cm for the Mini, 20 x 16 x 5 cm for the Small, 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm for the bag Dior now lists simply as Saddle Bag with Strap, and 24 x 20 x 7 cm for the Medium Soft Saddle. Only one of the four carries the word Medium in its own name, and it is not the 25.5 cm bag: listings call that one Medium or Classic because it is the largest of the structured trio. The weight line separates the tiers just as cleanly as the dimensions do, at 500 g for both small bags and 800 g for the 25.5 cm bag in grained calfskin and in jacquard.
The 1 cm of height between Mini and Small
On paper the Mini is the larger box. Nineteen by fifteen by six multiplies to 1,710 cubic centimetres, which is 1.71 litres; twenty by sixteen by five multiplies to 1,600 cubic centimetres, or 1.60 litres. The Mini therefore carries 110 cm³ more exterior volume than the Small, and Dior lists it for a card holder and lipstick while listing the Small for a phone as well. The variable that changes the list is height: 15 cm against 16 cm.

An iPhone 16 Pro Max measures 16.3 cm by 7.76 cm by 8.25 mm, so it cannot stand upright inside the Mini’s 15 cm of interior height, and it clears the Small’s 16 cm only because the bag is wider than the phone is tall once it is tipped. Its diagonal, 18.05 cm, is shorter than either bag’s face diagonal — 24.2 cm on the Mini and 25.6 cm on the Small — so the arithmetic says both would take the phone flat and neither will take it standing. What decides it in the hand is the Saddle flap closing over a curved body: the opening is narrower than the widest exterior measurement, and that is the figure Dior’s capacity line is really describing when it moves a phone from one tier’s list to the next.
Three weight figures that place the tier before the name does
Dior publishes 500 g for the Mini, 500 g for the Small and 800 g for the 25.5 cm Saddle Bag with Strap. Divided by exterior volume the ranking inverts: 292 g per litre for the Mini, 312 g per litre for the Small and 241 g per litre for the structured bag. The Small is the densest of the three, and the largest structured bag is the lightest relative to what it holds, which is the opposite of what most buyers assume when they move up a size to get something easier to carry.
The 300 g step between the Small and the structured bag buys 1.08 litres of additional box volume, a 5.5 cm wider body and a top handle long enough to hang on a forearm. The 110 cm³ step from Mini to Small buys no volume at all, only a different shape: 1 cm less depth and 1 cm more height. A listing that quotes 500 g against a bag described as Medium is therefore mislabelled, because the structured tier is printed at 800 g in every material checked and rises to about 820 g on some grained calfskin variants.
Two different bags answer to the word Medium
The structured bag Dior lists as Saddle Bag with Strap is 25.5 cm wide. The Medium Soft Saddle Bag with Strap is 24 cm wide and 7 cm deep, and it is a different construction: Dior describes it as a supple version of the Saddle, with an interior zip pocket and a thin adjustable strap fitted with numbered notches, borrowed from the way stirrup leathers are adjusted. Those notches are the reason its strap range is so much longer than anything on the structured bags — 80 to 126 cm with a 33 to 56 cm drop, against roughly 88 to 103 cm on all three structured tiers.
Its box volume is also marginally the larger of the two: 24 by 20 by 7 gives 3,360 cm³ against 3,315 cm³ for 25.5 by 20 by 6.5. So the Soft bag answers “Medium” with less width, more depth and a slightly bigger interior, and the structured bag answers it with 1.5 cm more width and 0.5 cm less depth. Anyone comparing two “Medium Saddles” from two listings may be comparing two constructions that share no measurements at all. The Soft tier’s block also publishes no handle length and no handle drop, unlike the three structured tiers, which each print both.
Strap, drop and handle figures across the four tiers
| Size | Strap length (cm) | Strap drop (cm) | Handle length (cm) | Handle drop (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini Saddle Bag with Strap | 88.5 to 103 | 41 to 49 | 37 | 12 |
| Small Saddle Bag with Strap | 88 to 103 | 42 to 50 | 38.5 | 12 |
| Saddle Bag with Strap | 87 to 104, varying by material | 41 to 49 | 52 to 53.5 | 18 |
| Medium Soft Saddle Bag with Strap | 80 to 126 | 33 to 56 | not published | not published |
The four strap ranges collapse into one. Across the three structured tiers the low end moves by 1.5 cm and the high end by 1 cm, so a Mini, a Small and a 25.5 cm Saddle all hang within a centimetre of each other at the same setting. What changes is the top handle: 37 cm and 38.5 cm on the two small tiers against 52 to 53.5 cm on the structured bag, with an 18 cm drop instead of 12 cm. A 12 cm handle drop is a finger carry; 18 cm is enough for a wrist or a forearm, which is the practical difference between the tiers that the size words do not state.
Micro, revival and vintage Saddles: three widths outside the table
The current four do not cover everything sold under the name. A micro format was quoted in the house’s own launch material at 12 x 7.5 x 5 cm, and resale platforms measure the same format at 13 x 12 x 4 cm and at 14 x 11 x 4.5 cm — a spread of up to two centimetres in height and one in width between sources describing what buyers call the same bag, and one that matters because the widest reading of that format is still narrower than the Mini by five centimetres. A 2024 reseller size guide also gives the Mini as 21 x 18 x 5 cm, which matches no Dior block for any material variant checked in October 2026; a listing quoting that figure is not describing the Mini on sale now, whatever the photograph shows.
Vintage examples from the 1999 to 2007 run sit closest to today’s structured bag. One 2002 piece is catalogued at 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm, exactly the current figure, while another vintage example is listed at 25 x 20 x 5 cm. The width and height have stayed within half a centimetre across twenty-five years; the depth is the number that moved, and it is the number a photograph cannot show.
What a photograph of a Saddle cannot tell you
Every tier shares the same silhouette: the asymmetric flap, the stirrup-shaped D pull, the CD hardware at the handle, the curved base. A photograph therefore settles the construction and the material long before it settles the size. The Mini and the Small differ by 1 cm in width and 1 cm in depth, which is invisible at the scale a listing image is displayed, and the two structured tiers differ in ways that read as styling rather than scale once a model is holding the bag.

What a photograph can show is depth, if it is taken from above, and the handle if a hand is holding it. Those two frames do more work than a straight-on front shot: the top-down frame separates a 5 cm Small from a 6.5 cm structured bag, and a hand on the handle separates a finger carry from a forearm carry. Everything else has to be measured.
Four figures to ask for on a listing, in the order that decides it
Ask for length, height, depth and strap length in centimetres, and read them in that order. Depth first: 5 cm is the Small, 6 cm is the Mini, 6.5 cm is the structured bag and 7 cm is the Soft. Height second: 15 cm, 16 cm, 20 cm and 20 cm follow the same ladder in the same order, so a bag quoted at 20 cm tall with 7 cm of depth is Soft and one at 20 cm with 6.5 cm is structured.
Width is the check rather than the identifier, because 19, 20, 24 and 25.5 cm are close enough that a seller measuring across a slouched flap can shift the figure by a centimetre. The strap range then tells you whether the piece has the notched Soft strap (80 to 126 cm) or a structured strap (87 to 104 cm). If the answer comes back as a size word alone, with no depth, the safest response is to ask whether the depth is 5, 6, 6.5 or 7 cm, because that one number places the bag in the table above without any other information.
Where these figures were read, and when
All of the dimensions, weights, strap ranges and capacity lines above are readings of published pages checked on 20 October 2026. Where two sources give different numbers for the same word, both are printed in the text rather than merged.

Browse the bags catalog or send those four figures on WhatsApp. The Dior Lady bag size guide works through a tier ladder where one name covers two heights, the Gucci Dionysus size guide shows what happens when a house archives half its own tiers, and the Celine Triomphe size guide separates two sizes that share one silhouette. The shoulder bag hub and the crossbody bag hub group these shapes by how they are carried, and the mini bag hub collects the tiers under 25 cm.
Frequently asked questions about Dior Saddle bag sizes
- What are the Dior Saddle bag sizes in cm?
- Four tiers on Dior's own product blocks, checked in October 2026: the Mini Saddle Bag with Strap at 19 x 15 x 6 cm, the Small Saddle Bag with Strap at 20 x 16 x 5 cm, the Saddle Bag with Strap at 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm, and the Medium Soft Saddle Bag with Strap at 24 x 20 x 7 cm. Dior prints these in the order length, height, width, so the middle figure is height and the last is depth. The structured 25.5 cm bag carries no size word at all on Dior's pages, which is why resale listings call it Medium.
- Is the Dior Saddle Mini or Small bigger?
- Neither, by volume. The Mini measures 19 x 15 x 6 cm, which multiplies to 1,710 cm³ or 1.71 litres, while the Small measures 20 x 16 x 5 cm, or 1,600 cm³ and 1.60 litres. The Mini is therefore 110 cm³ larger as a box, 1 cm narrower than the Small and 1 cm deeper. What the Small adds is 1 cm of height, and Dior's capacity line changes exactly there: the Mini is listed for a card holder and lipstick, the Small for a phone as well.
- Why does Dior call one Saddle size Medium when the page has no size word?
- Because two different bags can be reached by that word. The structured 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm bag is listed simply as Saddle Bag with Strap, and resale platforms call it Medium or Classic because it is the largest of the structured trio. There is also a Medium Soft Saddle Bag with Strap, which measures 24 x 20 x 7 cm and is deeper and softer. A listing that says Medium without centimetres is ambiguous: 25.5 cm wide is the structured bag, 24 cm wide is the Soft one.
- What is the difference between the Saddle Mini and the Saddle Small strap?
- Almost nothing on paper. The Mini's strap is published at 88.5 to 103 cm with a 41 to 49 cm drop, the Small's at 88 to 103 cm with a 42 to 50 cm drop. Both carry a 12 cm handle drop, on a 37 cm handle for the Mini and a 38.5 cm handle for the Small. The one-centimetre differences mean the two tiers hang at effectively the same height on the body, so a choice between them on strap length has no basis; the difference that matters is interior height.
- How much does a Dior Saddle bag weigh?
- Dior publishes 500 g for the Mini and 500 g for the Small in grained calfskin, and 800 g for the structured 25.5 cm Saddle Bag with Strap. The Medium Soft Saddle does not carry a published weight on the pages checked. Per litre of exterior volume the two small tiers are the heavier bags: about 292 g per litre for the Mini and 312 g per litre for the Small, against 241 g per litre for the 25.5 cm bag, which is the lightest of the three relative to its size.
- Can a phone fit in the Dior Saddle Mini?
- Dior does not list a phone among the contents for the Mini, and lists one for the Small. The arithmetic explains the split without settling it: an iPhone 16 Pro Max is 16.3 cm tall by 7.76 cm wide, so it cannot stand upright in the Mini's 15 cm of interior height, while its 18.05 cm diagonal does clear the 19 x 15 cm face. The physical limit is the flap opening over the curved body rather than the exterior box, which is why the only reliable check is a photograph of that exact phone inside that exact tier.
- What sizes did the Dior Saddle come in before the current four?
- Three other bodies appear in listings under the same name. A micro format was quoted by the house's launch material at 12 x 7.5 x 5 cm and is measured by resale platforms at 13 x 12 x 4 cm or 14 x 11 x 4.5 cm. Vintage examples from the 1999 to 2007 run are quoted at 25.5 x 20 x 6.5 cm and at 25 x 20 x 5 cm, so the depth is the figure that moved. And a 2024 reseller guide gives the Mini as 21 x 18 x 5 cm, which does not match Dior's current 19 x 15 x 6 cm block for any material variant checked.
