Dior Boots in cm: Uppers From 14 to 41.5 cm, Heels From 2 to 13 cm, and the Insole the Label Hides

Dior boot sizing from Dior's own Size & Fit lines plus resale tape measures: upper heights 14 to 41.5 cm, weights 445 to 850 g, and a 25.5 cm insole at 38.5.

Dior boot pages publish the upper height, heel, platform and weight, and never an insole length: uppers run from 14 cm on the Dior Frost ankle boot to 41.5 cm on the D-Town heeled boot, weights from 445 g to 850 g. Six D-Major variations alone span 20 cm to 33.5 cm of upper. The fit sentence changes with the reference code — the D-Major reads true to size, both D-Town boots read fits small and ask for half a size up. Where sellers measure an insole, four unrelated models marked 38.5 all give 25.5 cm.

A Dior boot page publishes the upper height, the heel or platform, the weight in grams and sometimes a fit sentence, and it never publishes an insole length. Across eleven boot pages read on 22 October 2026 the uppers run from 14 cm to 41.5 cm, the weights from 445 g to 850 g, and the fit sentences contradict one another.

What a Dior boot page prints, and the one measurement it never prints

Open any Dior boot page and the Size & Fit block lists the same categories in the same order: the heel or block heel in centimetres, the platform where there is one, the height of the upper, a weight in grams and ounces, and, on some pages, a sentence about how the style fits. What the block does not contain is an insole length or a foot-length column, which is why two buyers can read the entire page and still not know whether the boot is long enough for a 24.5 cm foot. That number only appears when a resale seller puts a tape measure inside the boot and publishes the result. The practical consequence is a split set of facts: Dior tells you how tall and how heavy a boot is, and the resale market tells you how long it is. Both numbers are needed before a size can be settled, and neither one substitutes for the other.

The table is a reading of Dior’s own product pages, not a conversion chart, and two columns in it are empty because the page did not fill them. A seller who quotes a model name without its reference has quoted the least useful part of this table.

D-Major is six boots, and their uppers run from 20 cm to 33.5 cm

The name D-Major appears on six variations in this set and the uppers do not converge: 20 cm on the calfskin and white wool ankle boot, 21.5 cm on the technical fabric ankle boot, 23.5 cm on the technical knit ankle boot, 32 cm on the Cannage tweed boot, 33 cm on the technical knit boot with the 4.5 cm heel, and 33.5 cm on a further boot listed by a retailer carrying Dior’s own text. The difference between the shortest and the tallest is 13.5 cm, which is more than the distance from the top of an ankle boot to the middle of a calf. Two of the six print the true-to-size sentence, three print no fit sentence at all, and one pair differs by 335 g in weight while sharing a reference prefix. A buyer who wants the D-Major look has to choose between an ankle boot and a mid-calf boot, and the name on the box will not tell them which one they are getting.

D-Town reads fits small, D-Major reads true to size, and three pages stay silent

The fit sentence is the clearest signal on a Dior boot page, and it is not shared across the house. The D-Town heeled boot at 41.5 cm and the D-Town heeled ankle boot at 14.5 cm both carry the instruction that the style fits small to size and that a half size larger than normal should be ordered. The D-Major technical fabric ankle boot and the Cannage tweed boot carry the opposite message, that the style fits true to size and a normal size should be ordered. The D-Major technical knit ankle boot, the calfskin and white wool ankle boot, the D-Racer and the Dior Frost publish a height and a weight with no fit sentence whatsoever, which is a third category: the page is not making a claim either way, so nothing on it can be used to justify a half size up. Reading the fit sentence by house, rather than by reference, is how a buyer ends up with a boot one half size in the wrong direction.

Four of the entries in that table are marked 38.5, come from four different Dior lines and measure exactly 25.5 cm inside. The stretch lambskin combat boot, the Macrocannage ankle boot, the fringe riding boot and the technical fabric combat boot share a footbed to the millimetre while their heels run from 2 cm to 8 cm and their shafts from 16 cm to 49 cm. Whatever else changes between a Dior ankle boot and a Dior knee-high, the length under the foot does not, which means a size confirmed in one line transfers to the other with reasonable confidence. The width column is where the four separate: 7.5 cm on the Arcade and the D-Shadow against 8 cm on the D-Major and the riding boot, a half centimetre that matters on a pointed last and hardly at all on a round one.

The half step is five millimetres, and three separate labels show it

Three boots in the set are labelled one half size apart and all three print an insole: a 38 measures 25.0 cm, a 38.5 measures 25.5 cm and a 39 measures 26.0 cm. That is a 0.5 cm step per half size and a full centimetre per whole size, taken from three different lines, three different sellers and three different constructions rather than from one manufacturer’s table. The arithmetic is worth doing because resale listings often hand a buyer a foot length and a marked size with no other context; if the foot measures 24.3 cm and the insole at 38 is 25.0 cm, the allowance is 0.7 cm, which is under the 1 cm that most boots need over a bare foot before a sock goes on. The same foot at 38.5 would sit inside a 25.5 cm insole with 1.2 cm of room. Half a size is therefore the difference between a boot that will pinch on a long walk and one that will not.

Boots from before about 2015 measure shorter under the same label

Two ankle boots marked 38.5 measure 24.7 cm of insole, which is 0.8 cm less than the four current-line 38.5 boots above. Both are older styles — a pull-on ankle boot with a fur trim and a column heel, and a leather ankle boot with a chain detail and an 8 cm heel — and both were measured by the same resale practice of running a tape from heel to toe inside the shoe. A 0.8 cm gap is nearly a full half size on the 0.5 cm step established above, so the label 38.5 has not meant one length across the house’s history. Anyone buying a Dior boot made more than a decade ago should ask for the insole figure rather than the marked size, because the marked size will read as if the boot were half a size larger than it actually is by current measurements.

Weight is the number a tape measure cannot reach

Dior publishes a weight on almost every boot page and it does something no other figure on the page does: it separates boots that measure alike. The 41.5 cm D-Town heeled boot is listed at 445 g, the 14 cm Dior Frost ankle boot at 465 g, the 15 cm D-Racer at 500 g, the 23.5 cm D-Major at 515 g, the 33 cm D-Major boot at 530 g, the 32 cm Cannage tweed D-Major at 565 g and the 21.5 cm technical fabric D-Major ankle boot at 850 g. The tallest boot in the set is the lightest and the shortest is the heaviest, a 405 g spread that runs in the opposite direction to the upper height. The explanation sits in the sole construction rather than the shaft: the D-Town carries a thin textured rubber sole, while the 850 g D-Major pairs a thick notched rubber sole with a rubber heel counter. Weight is the only published figure that describes that difference before the boot arrives.

Two boots with a 4.5 cm heel are 4 cm apart under the foot

Heel height alone ranks Dior boots misleadingly. The Arcade combat boot pairs a 4.5 cm heel with a 2 cm platform, so the foot climbs 2.5 cm from the ball to the heel and the leg is lifted 4.5 cm off the ground. The D-Town heeled ankle boot pairs a 7.5 cm heel with a 1 cm platform for a 6.5 cm climb, and the D-Shadow ankle boot publishes an 8 cm heel and no platform, so the full 8 cm is under the foot. Subtract the platform and the Arcade drops from a mid-height boot to something close to a flat; ignore it and the Arcade reads as the same height as a D-Leader ankle boot at 5.5 cm over a 2.5 cm platform, which climbs 3 cm. In the published data the two figures are always printed side by side, and the one that describes walking is the difference between them.

What a resale photograph settles about a Dior boot, and what it cannot

A photograph of a Dior boot establishes the family quickly — the laced front and notched sole of the D-Major, the openwork lace panel and neon heel signature of the Arcade, the quilted Macrocannage of the D-Shadow, the fringe and woven lambskin of the riding boot. The house’s vocabulary is consistent enough that the line can usually be named from one angle, and that naming is what makes a reference code findable. What the photograph cannot do is measure. A boot photographed on a shelf loses the top of its shaft to the frame, so a 16 cm ankle boot and a 41.5 cm boot can look like the same object; a boot lying on its side hides whether the 4.5 cm behind the heel sits on top of a 2 cm platform or on bare ground.

Photographs are still the only evidence of the two things Dior’s page does not print: the condition of the leather at the flex point above the heel, and whether the zip runs the full back of the shaft or stops halfway. A rear zip that stops halfway holds the ankle in a fixed opening, while a full-length zip lets the shaft be opened flat. On a boot with a 23 cm shaft and a 23 cm top opening, that difference decides whether a calf gets in at all.

Three figures to send before asking about a Dior boot

Send the reference code, the marked size and your measured foot length, and the boot can be settled without a photograph. The reference code is the only identifier that survives the D-Major problem of six upper heights under one name, and it is printed inside the boot as well as on the product page. The measured foot length is the number that can be compared with a 25.5 cm insole, which is what a seller can actually measure; the marked size cannot be compared with anything, because the same 38.5 has measured 24.7 cm and 25.5 cm depending on the decade.

Add the shaft height if the boot is a mid-calf or knee-high, because the published figures run from 16 cm to 49 cm inside the same size, and add the top opening for anything that has to close over a calf. Where a seller answers with an upper height instead of a shaft, ask which edge they measured from: Dior’s own pages give the upper as the height of the leather above the sole, while a resale seller measuring a boot flat may include the heel. The two numbers describe the same boot and differ by the height of the heel.

Send the reference and your foot length on WhatsApp and the size question can be answered against the published figures rather than against a guess.

Frequently asked questions about Dior boot sizing

Do Dior boots run small?
It depends on the reference code, and Dior prints the answer on the product page. The D-Major ankle boot KCI675SCR_S52X carries the sentence we recommend ordering your normal shoe size, while the D-Town heeled boot KCT051VSO_S900 and the D-Town heeled ankle boot KDT112SCF_S900 both state that the style fits small to size and ask for half a size larger. Several D-Major variations print no fit sentence at all, only the upper height and a weight. A single answer for every Dior boot does not exist, so the code — not the house name — decides whether a half size up is needed.
What is a Dior 38.5 boot in centimetres?
On the listings that publish an insole, a marked 38.5 measures 25.5 cm inside. That figure is repeated across four unrelated models: the D-Major combat boot, the Arcade combat boot, the D-Shadow ankle boot and the Global woven riding boot. The width at the same size runs 7.5 cm on the Arcade and the D-Shadow and 8 cm on the D-Major and the riding boot, so the marked size fixes the length far more tightly than it fixes the width.
How tall is a Dior ankle boot?
Between 14 cm and 26 cm depending on the model. The Dior Frost ankle boot is published at 14 cm of upper, the D-Town heeled ankle boot at 14.5 cm, the D-Racer at 15 cm, the D-Major technical fabric ankle boot at 21.5 cm, the D-Major technical knit ankle boot at 23.5 cm and the D-Trap at 26 cm. The D-Major name covers 20 cm, 21.5 cm, 23.5 cm, 32 cm, 33 cm and 33.5 cm of upper across six variations, so the model name is not a height.
Are Dior boots heavy?
Dior publishes a weight on most boot pages and the range is wide: 445 g for the 41.5 cm D-Town heeled boot, 465 g for the 14 cm Dior Frost ankle boot, 500 g for the D-Racer, 515 g for the 23.5 cm D-Major, 530 g for the 33 cm D-Major boot, 565 g for the Cannage tweed D-Major and 850 g for the 21.5 cm D-Major ankle boot. The tallest boot in the set is the lightest, because a tall shaft on a thin textured rubber sole weighs less than a short shaft on a thick notched rubber sole.
Does Dior publish a shoe size chart with foot lengths?
Dior's product pages link to a size chart, but the Size & Fit block itself lists the upper height, heel, platform and weight rather than a foot-length column. The foot lengths that circulate for Dior come from third-party charts and from resale listings that print a size reference such as EU38, US8, UK5 and JP25.5 for one boot. Those two are not the same thing: on a Dior boot marked EU38 with a JP25.5 reference, the measured insole was 25.0 cm, so the JP number is a label rather than the length of the footbed.
Which Dior boot is closest to a flat?
The Global woven riding boot, published at a 2 cm heel with a 49 cm shaft, and the Arcade combat boot, which pairs a 4.5 cm heel with a 2 cm platform so the foot climbs 2.5 cm. The D-Shadow ankle boot at an 8 cm heel and no published platform climbs the full 8 cm, and the D-Town heeled ankle boot at a 7.5 cm heel over a 1 cm platform climbs 6.5 cm. Heel height alone ranks these four boots wrongly.
