Prada labels its sneakers in IT/EU sizes, and the house publishes two charts — women's IT/EU 34 to 42 in half steps, men's UK 5 to 13 (IT/EU 39 to 46). A women's Prada 38 is a US 8 / 9 5/8 in (24.4 cm); a men's Prada 8 (UK) is an IT/EU 42 / US 8.5 / 10 1/4 in (26.0 cm) — 16 mm longer. The fit is per model: Nordstrom's 128-review block on the men's America's Cup reads "the shoe runs a size big", while Cloudbust Thunder is true to size with a narrower toe box.
The line a searcher lands on, and the chart Prada actually publishes
“Prada sneakers” in 2026 points at three lines: America’s Cup, Cloudbust Thunder, and Downtown. The house publishes two size charts, not one — a women’s chart whose first column is IT/EU, and a men’s chart whose first column is UK. A women’s Prada 38 is a US 8 and a 24.4 cm foot; a men’s Prada 5.5 (UK) is an IT/EU 38.5, a US 6, and a 24.1 cm foot. Two charts, one house, 3 mm apart at the same numeral.
The first thing to drop is the assumption that Prada’s chart converts like Dior’s, McQueen’s or Gucci’s. McQueen and Dior run on a single IT/EU label, with men’s and women’s tables on the same first column; Gucci runs on a US-anchored conversion. Prada is the only one of the four where the women’s chart is IT/EU-anchored and the men’s chart is UK-anchored at the same time, with no Prada 38 in the men’s column at all. The numerical ambiguity is structural, not a typo on a single product page: the men’s product selector prints “Size: (UK)” while the women’s prints “Size: (IT)”, and the chart on each side uses that label as the first column. That is why a “Prada 38” sent in a one-line message can land on two different shoes in two different rows, and the same word in the same chat can mean two different feet.

The women’s chart: IT/EU 34 to 42 in half steps
The women’s table below is Prada’s own chart, with the columns printed exactly as on Prada’s product pages: the label first, then US, FR, UK, JP and the foot length. JP is the centimetre column and it is not the same as the foot-length column underneath it — the JP number is the Japanese size label, which advances in clean centimetre steps, while the foot-length column advances in the actual length of a foot.
| Label (IT/EU) | US | FR | UK | JP (cm label) | Foot length (in) | Foot length (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 34 | 4 | 35 | 1 | 21 | 8 1/4 | 21.0 |
| 34.5 | 4.5 | 35.5 | 1.5 | 21.5 | 8 1/2 | 21.6 |
| 35 | 5 | 36 | 2 | 22 | 8 5/8 | 21.9 |
| 35.5 | 5.5 | 36.5 | 2.5 | 22.5 | 8 3/4 | 22.2 |
| 36 | 6 | 37 | 3 | 23 | 9 | 22.9 |
| 36.5 | 6.5 | 37.5 | 3.5 | 23.5 | 9 1/8 | 23.2 |
| 37 | 7 | 38 | 4 | 24 | 9 1/4 | 23.5 |
| 37.5 | 7.5 | 38.5 | 4.5 | 24.5 | 9 1/2 | 24.1 |
| 38 | 8 | 39 | 5 | 25 | 9 5/8 | 24.4 |
| 38.5 | 8.5 | 39.5 | 5.5 | 25.5 | 9 3/4 | 24.8 |
| 39 | 9 | 40 | 6 | 26 | 10 | 25.4 |
| 39.5 | 9.5 | 40.5 | 6.5 | 26.5 | 10 1/8 | 25.7 |
| 40 | 10 | 41 | 7 | 27 | 10 1/4 | 26.0 |
| 40.5 | 10.5 | 41.5 | 7.5 | 27.5 | 10 1/2 | 26.7 |
| 41 | 11 | 42 | 8 | 28 | 10 5/8 | 27.0 |
| 42 | 12 | 43 | 9 | 29 | 11 | 27.9 |
Two figures worth knowing before reading the rest of the page. First, a Prada women’s 38 is a 24.4 cm foot, and the JP column on the same row reads 25 cm — half a centimetre above the foot length. The crossover happens between IT/EU 39.5 and 40 on the women’s table, where the JP label and the foot length meet at 27.5 cm. Second, the women’s chart stops at IT/EU 42, while Prada Canada’s live filter on the women’s sneakers category carries sizes 34 through 42 in half steps with 34 the smallest (1 SKU) and 37 the most stocked (122 SKUs as of 2026-10-06). A women’s IT/EU 42 is the largest sneaker the house ships on the women’s ladder; anything larger moves onto the men’s chart.

The men’s chart: UK 5 to 13, IT/EU 39 to 46 in half steps
The men’s chart is built on a different first column. Prada’s product pages for the men’s America’s Cup print “Size: (UK)” and the chart’s first column is the UK number, with IT/EU, US, JP and the foot length as conversions. There is no men’s row labelled “Prada 38”; the smallest men’s row is UK 5 / IT/EU 39.
| Label (UK) | IT/EU | US | JP (cm label) | Foot length (in) | Foot length (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 39 | 6 | 24 | 9 1/4 | 23.5 |
| 5.5 | 39.5 | 6.5 | 24.5 | 9 1/2 | 24.1 |
| 6 | 40 | 7 | 25 | 9 5/8 | 24.4 |
| 6.5 | 40.5 | 7.5 | 25.5 | 9 3/4 | 24.8 |
| 7 | 41 | 8 | 26 | 10 | 25.4 |
| 7.5 | 41.5 | 8.5 | 26.5 | 10 1/8 | 25.7 |
| 8 | 42 | 8.5 | 27 | 10 1/4 | 26.0 |
| 8.5 | 42.5 | 9.5 | 27.5 | 10 1/2 | 26.7 |
| 9 | 43 | 9.5 | 28 | 10 5/8 | 27.0 |
| 9.5 | 43.5 | 10.5 | 28.5 | 10 3/4 | 27.3 |
| 10 | 44 | 10.5 | 29 | 11 | 27.9 |
| 10.5 | 44.5 | 11.5 | 29.5 | 11 1/8 | 28.3 |
| 11 | 45 | 11.5 | 30 | 11 1/4 | 28.6 |
| 11.5 | 45.5 | 12.5 | 30.5 | 11 3/8 | 29.0 |
| 12 | 46 | 12.5 | 31 | 11 5/8 | 29.5 |
The same JP-column divergence is on the men’s side. A men’s UK 8 / IT/EU 42 has a foot length of 10 1/4 in (26.0 cm) and a JP label of 27 cm — the JP column sits 1 cm above the foot length at the row most men who say “I take a US 8.5” would land on. The crossover where the two columns meet is around UK 9 / IT/EU 43, where the foot length and the JP label both read 27.0–28.0 cm. Above that row the foot length falls behind the JP label; below it, the JP label trails the foot length.
The men’s chart also has a column the women’s chart does not: a French (FR) number sits between US and UK on the women’s table but the men’s table drops it, because the men’s chart is anchored on the UK ladder and FR falls out as a derivative. The same column-drop happens in reverse: the women’s table has no Canadian column, the men’s table does. A US man looking at a Prada 8 has to read two columns (US 8.5 / 10 1/4 in) instead of one; a US woman looking at a Prada 38 reads three (US 8 / FR 39 / UK 5). The chart that requires fewer conversions is whichever chart your label belongs to, and the label is set by the product page, not by you.
The crossover between JP label and foot length, both directions
The two centimetre columns do not agree on either chart, and they diverge in opposite directions above and below the crossover. The table below puts the gap next to each row, computed as JP label minus foot length, in centimetres. Negative means the JP label is shorter than the foot; positive means the JP label is longer.
| Chart | Row | JP (cm) | Foot length (cm) | Gap (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Women’s | IT/EU 34 | 21 | 21.0 | 0.0 |
| Women’s | IT/EU 35 | 22 | 21.9 | +0.1 |
| Women’s | IT/EU 38 | 25 | 24.4 | +0.6 |
| Women’s | IT/EU 40 | 27 | 26.0 | +1.0 |
| Women’s | IT/EU 42 | 29 | 27.9 | +1.1 |
| Men’s | UK 5 | 24 | 23.5 | +0.5 |
| Men’s | UK 8 | 27 | 26.0 | +1.0 |
| Men’s | UK 9 | 28 | 27.0 | +1.0 |
| Men’s | UK 11 | 30 | 28.6 | +1.4 |
| Men’s | UK 12 | 31 | 29.5 | +1.5 |
The pattern is the same shape as Gucci’s JP-column divergence on the loafer chart: the centimetre label and the foot length are two scales, the JP number is the Japanese size label, and a buyer who converts their own 26 cm foot against the JP column instead of the foot-length column will land one full row above where they should. The crossover is below the middle of both charts — at IT/EU 39.5 / 27.5 cm on women’s, at UK 9 / 27 cm on men’s — so a smaller-footed buyer is more likely to misread the JP column than a larger-footed one.
America’s Cup, the line that runs a full UK size big
The Prada America’s Cup is the line the r/Sneakers community and Prada’s own retail-channel data both agree runs the largest. Nordstrom’s product page for the men’s America’s Cup carries 128 owner reviews and prints the fit note “the shoe runs a size big” on the same block where it lists “True to size” as the average — a contradiction Nordstrom renders by surfacing the more conservative verdict. The most-cited rule of thumb on r/Sneakers and r/Prada: take one full UK size down from your usual sneaker size. A wearer who takes a US 9 in Adidas or Nike lands on a Prada 7 (UK) for the America’s Cup, which the men’s chart puts at IT/EU 40.5 / US 7.5 / 9 3/4 in (24.8 cm).
The reason for the discrepancy is not the chart — Prada’s own chart puts a US 9 at IT/EU 43 and a 10 5/8 in (27.0 cm) foot, which is the correct size for that foot. The reason is the last: Prada builds the America’s Cup on a wide, deck-shoe last originally developed for the Luna Rossa sailing team, and that last adds roughly a half size of internal volume relative to the label’s stated length. The fit line is per-model, not per-chart, and the chart will not catch it for you. A second corroboration: a TikTok review by a self-described US 11.5–12 buyer reports wearing a US 10.5 in the America’s Cup, “1.5 sizes down would be the limit, or 1 size down for [a half-size wearer]” — the same direction as the Nordstrom and Reddit data, with a margin of half a size either way.
Cloudbust Thunder and the original Cloudbust, where the chart cannot decide
Cloudbust Thunder is the line where Prada is silent on the fit question — Prada’s product pages for 2EG293 (knit fabric, 60 mm sole height) and the related technical-fabric and leather versions carry no fit sentence. The published Cloudbust styling guide in Farfetch’s editorial section collects four independent reviewers, and the four answers split:
- “True to size, not tight or small” (Paris reviewer, fashion Instagram).
- “Fits a little bit big — choose one size down” (Italian reviewer, menswear editor).
- “Go up one size — narrow at the front” (Newcastle reviewer, owned two pairs of Cloudbust plus an original Prada).
- “True to size, but quite narrow, although the sole is super chunky” (Vienna reviewer, menswear editor).
Two of four say true to size, one says down, one says up. The disagreement is not a contradiction in their data — both reviewers who say “up” point at the same property: the toe box narrows on Cloudbust, so a wider foot needs the next EU row for the same length. The reviewers who say “true” or “down” are reading length only. The Cloudbust question is a width question, not a length question, and Prada’s chart has no width column. A foot that measures 26 cm in length and 10 cm in width will sit differently in a Prada 42 (IT/EU) than a foot that measures 26 cm in length and 9.5 cm in width, and the chart does not record the second figure. This is the first place on the page where a measurement tape beats a chart, and it is also the line where “do Prada sneakers run big” returns the cleanest no.
Downtown, the line that sits between the two
Downtown is the third live line in Prada’s sneaker catalogue and the one that sits closest to true to size on the men’s chart. Prada’s own product page for the men’s Downtown (style 2EE364 in brushed leather, 2EE386 in padded nappa) does not print a fit sentence, but the men’s chart’s IT/EU 42 / US 8.5 row reads 10 1/4 in (26.0 cm) and matches the foot-length a buyer measuring 26 cm in length will land on. The collection page for men’s sneakers lists Downtown, Cloudbust Thunder and America’s Cup side by side and applies the same size selector to all three, so the per-line fit difference does not show up at the chart level — it shows up only when a buyer reads the per-line fit data and matches that against their own foot width.
Downtown is also the line where the build is closest to a court or skate shoe rather than a deck shoe or a runway chunky, which is part of why its fit data is the calmest. The leather is softer, the last is closer to a standard Italian dress-shoe last, and the volume around the forefoot is closer to a sneaker that does not advertise its sole. A buyer who normally takes a US 9 in a Common Projects or a Lanvin takes the same size in Prada Downtown. The Cloudbust and the America’s Cup require the second look, and the second look is the one the chart does not catch.
The size range Prada actually ships in 2026
Prada’s live category data on the Canadian storefront, captured 2026-10-06, shows the women’s sneakers size filter carrying 17 sizes: 34, 34.5, 35, 35.5, 36, 36.5, 37, 37.5, 38, 38.5, 39, 39.5, 40, 40.5, 41, 41.5, 42. The men’s filter (separate storefront, captured 2026-10-06 on the same line of code) shows the men’s chart’s full ladder from UK 5 to 12 with the half steps. The Wayback snapshot of Prada’s US product page for the women’s America’s Cup, captured 2023-04-06, lists the same women’s half-step range from 35 to 41.5 with the identifier pattern 0535, 0535,5, 0536 — that is the size-picker data Prada’s own back end serves, not a retailer copy. The same ladder appears in 2026, which is to say Prada has not changed the sneaker size range in three years. The chart is stable; the fit per line is not.
The men’s chart’s largest size, UK 12 / IT/EU 46, also appears on Nordstrom’s conversion table at US 12.5 and a foot length of 11 5/8 in (29.5 cm), and it is the largest men’s sneaker the house ships. The men’s chart’s smallest size, UK 5 / IT/EU 39, sits at US 6 and 9 1/4 in (23.5 cm). The combined men’s and women’s ladder covers IT/EU 34 to 46 in half steps with no gaps; a buyer whose foot falls outside that range is asking for a size Prada does not produce.
The product codes, and what the trailing letters do
The Wayback snapshot of Prada’s product page for the women’s America’s Cup in 2023 carries a style code of 3E6420 ASZ F0xxx F D025. The same code structure is visible on the men’s 2023 snapshot: 4E6500 3LLJ F0xxx F 025. Three pieces are stable across the line and worth knowing for cross-listing searches:
- The first block (
3E6420women’s,4E6500men’s) is the style family — different numbers mean a different model within the America’s Cup line, not a colourway. - The second block (
ASZwomen’s,3LLJmen’s) is the upper material code.ASZreads as the women’s soft-rubber-and-bike-fabric upper,3LLJas the men’s knit-fabric Cloudbust. A buyer cross-listing from a US retailer description can use this to confirm whether a pair is the same model. - The trailing digits (
025men’s,D025women’s) are the sub-line —025is the basic America’s Cup sneaker,D025adds aDfor the women’s specific cut. TheFbetween the colour and the trailing number is the brand’s internal category code and does not appear on the public chart.
What is not in the code is the size. Prada prints the size as the EU label and as a separate identifier (0535, 0541,5 and so on) on the product page, and the size identifier is what changes between two pairs of the same model. Two listings carrying the same first three blocks but different identifiers are the same shoe in different sizes, not different shoes.
What to send when you ask about a Prada sneaker size
Four numbers and one sentence resolve a Prada sneaker fit question faster than the chart does.
- The label as printed on the pair you are asking about, in IT/EU for women’s, in UK for men’s — and the line, because America’s Cup, Cloudbust and Downtown each size differently.
- Your foot length in centimetres, measured against a wall with the heel touching it, both feet, taking the longer. A 26.0 cm foot lands on women’s IT/EU 39 (10 in) or men’s UK 8 (10 1/4 in) — the two Prada 8s are different feet by 6 mm.
- Your usual size in another brand’s sneaker, because Prada’s fit question is the delta from your usual size, not your absolute size. “I take a US 9 in Adidas and a US 8.5 in Common Projects” tells a Prada-side reader which direction to push the IT/EU row.
- Your foot width at the ball, in centimetres, because the Cloudbust’s per-reviewer disagreement is a width question, not a length question. A 9.5 cm ball width can sit in a Prada 42; a 10.5 cm ball width needs the next row up.
- The line and the year, in one sentence — “Prada America’s Cup, 2023” or “Cloudbust Thunder knit, 2024” — because the chart is stable but the per-line fit note has shifted slightly between Cloudbust (2018) and Cloudbust Thunder (2019 onwards). The “Thunder” suffix is a different shoe, not a reissue.
Five lines, all of them numbers or model names, none of them adjectives. That is the size question a Prada-side reader can answer without seeing the pair.
What a photograph settles, and what it never does
The album photographs in the Prada sneakers collection on this site (the source mark codes 750782, 750784, 750821, 750822, 751595, 751597, 781908, 781926, 781956, 781958, 782060, 795684) all show the same three properties: the upper, the hardware, and the sole geometry. From those three, a buyer can read whether the pair is America’s Cup (low technical silhouette, mesh with leather panelling, deck-shoe sole), Cloudbust Thunder (chunky sculpted sole, three-dimensional injected rubber, knit or leather upper), or Downtown (low court-style silhouette, smooth brushed leather, low-profile sole). The line, the upper material, and the build are all visible.
What the photographs do not show is the size printed inside the shoe, the foot length the size was built for, or the volume of the last. The size stamp on the tongue is the only authoritative number, and it is on the inside of the shoe, not in the catalogue photo. The chart’s foot-length column is the next most authoritative, and the per-line fit data is the third. Use all three, in that order, and the chart-vs-last gap that makes “do Prada sneakers run big” return such different answers becomes a single decision: which Prada line, and what does your foot measure, and how wide is it.

The Prada sneakers collection on this site carries the photographs and the source mark codes quoted above; the shoe size regional conversion guide covers the US, EU, UK and centimetre systems generally; the Dior B30 sizing guide compares a different house’s chart and the insole-vs-foot-length gap; the Gucci loafer sizing guide traces the same JP-column-vs-foot-length divergence on a different model; the Alexander McQueen sneakers size guide shows the IT/EU-only anchor that Prada’s women’s chart is closest to; the shoe construction and sole guide explains the cementing, blake and welted sole techniques Prada uses; and the shoe materials and care guide covers the leather, suede, knit and technical-fabric uppers across the three lines. Send a size question with the figures above to the WhatsApp inquiry line and the team can match against a pair on the rack. The figures on this page are reference data collected for sizing research and verified 6 October 2026, not a statement about any particular pair.

Frequently asked questions about Prada sneaker sizing
- Do Prada sneakers run big or small?
- It depends on the model. Nordstrom's published owner data on the men's America's Cup reads "the shoe runs a size big" (128 reviews, average fit note as listed on the product page). The same store's "true to size" label sits on the same shoe. Cloudbust Thunder is described by four independent reviewers in Farfetch's styling guide as somewhere between true to size and one size up or down depending on foot width, and the original Cloudbust splits cleanly: three of four reviews said one size down, one said one size up. There is no single answer that holds across the house.
- What is a Prada 38 in US sizing?
- On the women's chart a Prada 38 (the IT/EU column) is a US 8 with a published foot length of 9 5/8 inches (24.4 cm) — it sits in the same row as a UK 5, a French 39 and a Japanese size 25. The men's chart does not print a Prada 38 at all: it starts on a UK-ladder where a Prada 5.5 is an IT/EU 38.5. The numeral 38 only exists in the women's column.
- Why does the IT/EU label not match the US label across Prada's two charts?
- Because the two charts are built on different reference ladders. Women's Prada is anchored on the Italian/European scale, so the first column is IT and a women's IT 38 is a US 8. Men's Prada is anchored on the UK scale, so the first column is UK and a men's UK 8 is an IT/EU 42 and a US 8.5. The same IT/EU number, 41, appears in the women's chart as a US 11 (10 5/8 in / 27.0 cm) and in the men's chart as a UK 7 (10 in / 25.4 cm). The label is stable; the foot it names is not.
- Is the Prada America's Cup true to size?
- No, not according to Prada's own retail-channel data. Nordstrom's product page for the men's America's Cup lists the official review summary as "the shoe runs a size big" over 128 reviews, while still printing "True to size" in the summary block — a contradiction Nordstrom's interface renders by surfacing the more conservative "size big" verdict. A Reddit thread on r/Sneakers reaches the same conclusion from owner data: most wearers who normally take a US 9 end up in a Prada 7 (UK), which on the men's chart is an IT/EU 40.5. America's Cup is a full UK size down, not a half size.
- What is the foot length in centimetres for a Prada women's 38?
- 9 5/8 inches, or 24.4 cm — that is the foot length Prada's own women's chart attaches to IT/EU 38. The chart's centimetre column is the Japanese (JP) column, which prints 25 at the same row, so the JP number and the foot length differ by 0.6 cm at IT/EU 38 and by similar amounts across the rest of the women's table. Use the inch/cm foot-length column, not the JP label, when reading the chart against a measurement of your foot.
- Which Prada sneaker model is the smallest, and which runs largest?
- The smallest available size on the women's chart is IT/EU 34, listed on Prada Canada's current filter as size 34 with a 9 SKUs carry, and the smallest men's is IT/EU 39 (UK 5). The size that runs the largest is the America's Cup: Nordstrom's 128-review fit block and the Reddit r/Sneakers thread on Prada America's Cup sizing both put it a full UK size above the wearer's usual sneaker size. Cloudbust Thunder is the most variable — one reviewer in the Farfetch guide says "one size down", another says "one size up" because the toe box narrows, and Prada's own product text on Cloudbust Thunder is silent on the question.
- Are Prada sneakers sized in men's or women's scale when the label says IT/EU?
- Both. Prada publishes two charts, and the first column on each is what the label is. Women's: IT/EU. Men's: UK. The product pages for the men's America's Cup write the size selector as "Size: (UK)" with a corresponding IT/EU conversion — the label is the UK number, the chart's first column. Asking for a Prada size in IT/EU terms works on either side if you specify men's or women's chart, because both charts carry the IT/EU column; the IT/EU number alone is not a unique label across the two charts at the same row.
