The body chart is the first gate
On Gucci's men's chart, S is IT 46 with a 46 cm shoulder and 94 cm body chest, while M is IT 48 with 47 cm and 98 cm. Those are targets for the body rather than the finished hoodie. A 63 cm flat chest measurement across the front can represent roughly twice that circumference, and it is not supposed to match the 94 or 98 cm chart value. Once the letter is located, compare the product row with another hoodie measured the same way.
Oversize and regular can share a length
Gucci's men's hoodie pages illustrate the trap. Two hooded sweatshirts are published at size S with a 63 cm chest and 70 cm garment length, but one is called oversize and one regular. The visible difference is in shoulder drop and in the definition behind the sleeve figure. Choosing the smaller size to recover a regular fit therefore does not guarantee a shorter hem. The cut changes volume around the shoulders and body first. Compare the finished chest and shoulder drop, then use length to decide where the hem lands.
Shoulder drop values are not body shoulder widths
A hoodie with a shoulder drop of 71.5 cm may place the sleeve join far out along the arm, while the body chart still lists a 46 cm shoulder for the same size. Those figures are not contradictory. The chart describes the wearer's shoulder; the hoodie row describes the garment's construction. A dropped seam makes the sleeve start lower and can make the garment look broader even with a moderate chest. Ask the seller to name the position of every tape end. Without that definition, two shoulder figures from separate pages cannot be ranked reliably.
Fleece weight and ribbed openings
Cotton jersey fleece can be light enough to drape or dense enough to hold an oversized line. The hood adds layers of fabric at the neck and back; the ribbed cuff and hem gather the body opening. A strong rib can make a loose hoodie look shaped, while a straight hem lets the full volume fall. The material does not change the printed size, but it changes how closely the garment follows the body after a day of wear. Check composition, fabric weight where published and the depth of the rib before deciding that a larger size is needed.
Five figures for a Gucci hoodie
Lay a hoodie that fits flat and measure chest from underarm seam to underarm seam, shoulder seam or drop, centre-back length, sleeve from a named start point, and the unstretched hem opening. Add the marked letter, Italian size and fit word from the Gucci page. This record makes an oversize row comparable with a regular style. It also prevents an unreadable sleeve definition from becoming a false size conclusion, because the seller can answer the same flat measurement directly.
